There are Two types of Marriage Celebrants:- authorised under the Marriage Act 1961 to perform marriage
(1) Civil Celebrants - perform civil marriage ceremonies.  and 
(2) Religious Celebrants, - these do not belong to a mainstream
 Religion or Church. As Non-Aligned Religious Celebrants they are able to perform only religious wedding ceremonies
A 'General Celebrant'  or Funeral Celebrant  CANNOT marry you!
